Self-sustainability
The gardens in the home are looking great! There are banana, papaya, mango, guava, pomegranate, custard apples and chillies for the kids to eat. They are also used in cooking. Our beloved staff member, Peter planted these trees. We are so grateful. He passed away last year and is dearly missed but what an amazing legacy to leave for future generations. |
Health and Wellbeing
Medical checkups, English tutoring, First Aid training and Music tutoring are given to the children each month. Thank you to Jesy, Janet and Solomon for travelling to the Home to educate and encourage the children.
In addition, Prince held a Wellbeing workshop and talked about body, soul and spirit and keeping them well. They also sang, danced and played games together.
Another Medical camp is scheduled for June this year with the new intake of children. We will invite the local community to attend as a Community Development project and to extend love and goodwill.

Contact us for a full list of maintenance projects to be completed. Total $17,678.56 |
Some urgent items include:
1. Paint Boys & Girls outdoor kitchens, add ventilation (Urgent – government asking) $1728 2. The whole boy’s hostel needs paint $4320 3. Plumbing works in the outdoor kitchen $810 4. New cooking vessels and stand for the freezer needed $280 5. Walls in the girl’s dorm to be built so that staff have their own private area $1836Computers We would like to install 8 computers for the children to use - 4 in the girls Hostel and 4 in the boys. Total for 8 computers = $4712.24 |
Sponsorship
We will be taking in new children in June to coincide with the start of the new school year. We will also be increasing our child sponsorship to $55 per month to help alleviate the rising costs of living. College June 2023 - we have 5 children starting college this June! How amazing is that?! We know that college is a guarantee of breaking the cycle of poverty for these kids and their families. We offer College Sponsorship for our kids for $180 per month for an estimated 3-4 year commitment. This includes all fees and living costs. If you would like to donate please contact us. |
Medical Camp
We will be conducting our annual medical camp in June with the intake of new children. This has become a valued community event and contributes to Community Development and goodwill in the area surrounding the Home. Total $2945.12 Widows micro-business We are currently conducting market research and interviewing widows in the community as to which microbusinesses would be suitable within the community. As many of the widows are elderly and illiterate we are looking at what will be most suitable. Some of the businesses we are looking into include making toiletries, making pani puri (snack), basket weaving and sewing. |

New Staff –
We need to employ a new warden, two security staff and a bus driver before the rest of the children return. If you would like to sponsor our staff please contact us. It is $145 per staff member per month.
A New Office
As part of our licence we are required by the government to build and fit out a new office at the girl’s hostel for staff to complete administrative duties and for meetings with visiting officials. Total cost $10,000.
A Medical Camp –
If permission can be granted from local authorities, a medical camp for all the children and people in need in the local community will be held.
